The World Islamic Banking Competitiveness Report 2011/12, developed in collaboration with Ernst & Young, will be officially launched on 22 November 2011 at the 18th Annual World Islamic Banking Conference (WIBC 2011)

he World Islamic Banking Competitiveness Report, an initiative designed to not only identify but also to raise the bar of competitive excellence, strategic leadership and performance improvement in the global Islamic finance industry, now in its eighth annual edition, will analyse key strategies that leading Islamic financial institutions must deploy in order to ensure continued growth in a challenging economic environment.

Islamic corporate finance in focus

MANAMA: The Islamic corporate finance market has steadily undergone an evolution in terms of product sophistication and market reach.

This is due to an increasing number of businesses looking to include Islamic finance as a component of their corporate funding mix.

Canadian University of Dubai offers MBA in Islamic Banking

“The MBA in Islamic Banking has been introduced in response to the increasing popularity of this type of banking in the region, and aims to equip postgraduates with the necessary skills to manage banking activity that is consistent with the principles of Islamic law”, said Dr. Muhammed Kabir, Vice President, Academic Affairs, Canadian University of Dubai.

The one year full- time degree in Islamic Banking will also be available for graduates who are already in employment because students have the option to choose classes running over the weekend and in the evening.

New INCEIF chief outlines three key objectives

CIMA launches advanced diploma in Islamic finance

CIMA has launched its new advanced diploma in Islamic finance, following the launch of CIMA’s certificate in Islamic finance four years ago, which has recently been renamed the CIMA diploma in Islamic finance.

John Willsdon, a leadership and development specialist at CIMA, said, “Islamic finance is becoming much more prominent throughout the financial institutions of the world, rapidly growing from a niche industry to a mainstay of finance. CIMA’s qualifications in Islamic finance have been developed with this switch in mind, and to help meet a global shortfall of skilled Islamic finance professionals.
